Bulk density

Bulk density of grain:

The bulk density, as a further evaluation criterion for grain, is determined by weighing a measure of capacity that has been filled with grain in a defined manner. The reference value is the value determined with the 20l normal mass per hectolitre measuring instrument of the Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying.

In practice, devices are used to determine ¼ l and 1 l of grain. They are connected to the measurement results of the 20l normal mass per hectolitre measuring instrument by means of tables.
